Westyn's Nursery

Finally...I know you all have been waiting on pins and needles to see her room...haha! We hung the last few things and it is ready (for the most part, still need curtains)...just waiting for little miss! When we found out we were having another girl I knew I wanted to try something completely different from Blakelee's room. I LOVE B's room and I just knew if they were too similar I would constantly be comparing them and I would never get it "right" without just making a clone of her room. So we decided to go with coral, pinks, aqua, and gold and try a vintage feel! I love the way it turned out and am so so happy with it! (Now, if I could just decide on curtains...)

Here's just an overview of her room!
For our shelves we bought some planks at the hardware store and had them cut to the width we wanted. We bought white brackets and I spray painted them gold! I bought some fun board book classics to display on the bottom shelf but they aren't in yet, so I decorated with what I had!

Ah...that gold dot wall...in love!! My fist time to really sit down and scour pinterest for nursery ideas I knew I had to do this in her room! It was actually pretty straight forward and easy once you got the hang of it! For anyone wanting to try this my suggestion is to spend lots of time mapping out where you want your dots (make sure you'll have enough) and use a laser level! I purchased the 1 inch gold dots from this shop on Etsy.
I've had this old window for a couple years now. It, with another matching one, have just been sitting on our mantel in our living room. I knew when we decided to go for vintage I wanted to use one in her room! While I wanted the window to look old I didn't want paint chipping off into her eyes while I change diapers...haha! So, I scraped off all the paint that was already chipping and gave it a light sand, applied a coat of white paint, distressed it and then finished with a dark wax....I was super pleased with how it turned out!
The dresser and nightstand were our first purchases for her room! We got them off craigslist and had a friend re-do them....I just love love love how they turned out!
I know I could have made the tissue garland but I decided to make my life a bit simpler by just purchasing it here on Etsy!

We went with a classic Jenny Lind style crib. I had been eyeing it on amazon but actually found it on sale at a baby store in Amarillo!
The bedding was custom made by my sweet mother!! We picked a variety of different Amy Butler fabrics from her Love line and a gold polkadot fabric! I just can't say how perfect it is and exactly what I was wanting!!
I got the poms from this store on Etsy...figuring out where and how you want these hung is a little more challenging than I expected but I'm really happy with how it turned out!

I knew I wanted to get a monogram for Westyn's room because I love the statement it makes in Blakelee's room! I purchased the unfinished 36" monogram from this Etsy shop and spray painted it gold.
I loved Blakelee's monogrammed blanket and knew Westyn needed one too!
We found the owl pillow at Garden Ridge (I believe the store is called "At Home" now), the lamp is from Hobby Lobby, and clock was a Zulily purchase! I got the gold and white moccs from Jane but can't remember the store name!
I knew I wanted to spend a little more money on our chair for Westyn's room than we did on the one we have in B's. I just spent so much more time in it than I realized. While it was comfortable "enough" I knew I wanted something that 3 of us could rock in and then transition it down to the playroom in the future. We decided on this glider/recliner from Babies R Us in the base color, shadow. We are very pleased with it so far, can't wait to rock my babies in it!

The blanket ladder is my Dad's old ladder! I remember him using it for various paint projects and other things throughout my childhood. Brock cut off the top and took the front off. I gave it a light sand and then went through the same process as I did on the window...love how it turned out!!

Here are a few detail pics!

39 Week Baby Bump

How far along: 39 weeks
Size of baby: mini watermelon - 20.5in, 7.25lbs
Gender: GIRL!!
Maternity clothes: Yep, or workout clothes...mainly leggings, pretty sure I wore jeans only 1x this week!
Started showing: I'll let you decide this one...
Stretch marks: Nope
Belly button in or out: Out...out, out, out!
Sleep: Not bad...some tossing and turning
Best moment this week: It's been a good week! Brock and I had a wonderful Valentine's weekend and Blakelee got to spend some quality time with both sets of grandparents! We also ALMOST finished the nursery...I promise I'll put pictures up as soon as our last things are hung!

We had our Dr appointment on Monday. Everything looks great with Westyn...heart rate was strong 135bpm, my uterus is measuring super small but he says it's because she's dropped! We were pleased to hear that I'm dilated to "at least a 1"...so that's progress from nothing the week before! However, my blood pressure decided to be high. He had me do a 24hr urine sample and some blood work just to make sure I'm not developing pre-eclampsia. If for some reason the results come back positive we will probably schedule a repeat c-section to deliver the end of the week, unless I go into labor before then! If everything checks out fine then we will continue to just play the waiting game! I had contractions all day Monday that I was able to time...about 8-10min apart but didn't progress at all from there....and haven't had much go on since. Just waiting now to get results back and see where we go from there! Your thoughts and prayers are appreciated!
Movement: Yes, all the time!! Although, it has slowed down some...I think she's running out of room or resting up for her big entrance!!
Cravings: Still none
Symptoms: Heartburn here and there, braxton hicks all day, some mild contractions throughout the day, PSIS/tailbone pain, lots of pressure and groin pain!
Looking forward to: A relaxing weekend with our family of 3! Trying to soak it all in before we begin this new adventure! And of course can't wait to meet Miss Westyn!

Started showing: I'll let you decide this one...
Stretch marks: Nope
Belly button in or out: Out...out, out, out!
Sleep: Not bad...some tossing and turning
Best moment this week: We had another appointment yesterday and everything going good! My uterus is still measuring small due to her being so low, her HR sounded great at 143bpm, and I lost 2 lbs this week...sweet! He did check me for the first time and I haven't started progressing at all yet, bummer! On Sunday our sweet bible study group surprised Brock and I with a little sprinkle for Westyn, we are so blessed to be doing life with these people! I'm also SO excited about Westyn's room!! Mom finished her bedding and we put it all on last night...it's beautiful, absolutely perfect! We have a couple things to hang and it will be complete! I will post pics soon!
Movement: Yes, all the time!!
Cravings: Still no cravings
Symptoms: Heartburn here and there, braxton hicks all day, occasional contractions that are a bit stronger than BH but nothing that progresses, PSIS/tailbone pain, lots of pressure and groin pain!
Looking forward to: Brock and I are going on a date Friday evening and staying in Amarillo and then Saturday we're doing dinner with some of our friends. Thankful for grandparents that are willing to spend Valentine's weekend with Blakelee so Brock and I can get some time together before we add Miss Westyn!

Stretch marks: Nope
Belly button in or out: Out...out, out, out!
Sleep: Pretty good this week!
Best moment this week: We had another appointment last Tuesday and everything is looking great! We also pre-registered and pre-admitted at the hospital! We're getting close to finishing up the nursery, very ready to see it all come together! We've had some pretty weather the last couple days and I've really enjoyed spending time outside with our sweet Blakelee....soaking in our last few moments with just Blakelee!
Movement: Yes, all the time!!
Cravings: Still no cravings
Symptoms: Heartburn here and there, braxton hicks all day, occasional contractions that are a bit stronger than BH but nothing that progresses, PSIS/tailbone pain, lots of pressure!
Looking forward to: A weekend full of beautiful weather! Hopefully between getting the nursery projects complete we can spend some family time outside this weekend! Also anticipating our appointment next Tuesday, excited to hear the heartbeat and see if I've progressed at all and hopefully get a better idea of when she may make her entrance!

So, for those of you that don't know, I had to have a c-section with B due to her heart rate dropping during labor and pushing. At this time we are planning to attempt a VBAC with Westyn. Everything is pointing towards success at this time. There are so many emotions I feel going toward this, I'm excited/nervous/scared/happy...I don't even know!! Anyway, prayers would be greatly appreciated to keep both of us healthy through labor and that whatever is going to be the best method to bring this sweet girl to us is made clear, whether it's a repeat c-section or VBAC. I'm putting this all into God's hands and know that he already has his sweet and perfect plan for these next couple weeks!

We also had a Dr's appointment  on Thursday and everything is still going good! My uterus is still measuring small, 29 weeks when I'm 33 and it was 28 weeks at my previous appointment when I was 31. Dr. seems to think it's because of her position and isn't too worried. We're scheduled to go back in 2 weeks for our next appointment and we will get a sono then to check her growth and fluid levels. I'm so excited to get to see this munchkin again! Then we start with our weekly appointments...holy cow!

Sleep: Not too bad lately!
Best moment this week: I know I'm like 4 weeks behind but I'll just focus on this last week! Blakelee felt Westyn move for the first time this week, it was hilarious! I was rocking her before her nap and she was lying across my belly. Westyn was moving like crazy but I didn't say anything to B. She started giggling and I asked her what was so funny and she said "Wetyn siddy!" I asked her why she was silly and she started poking her belly, it was so cute!! We also just celebrated Blakelee's 2nd Christmas! It was so fun to watch her open her gifts and love on her new toys! Such joy! Next year will be even more exciting!

25 Week Baby Bump

How far along: 25 weeks, 4 days
Size of baby: rutabaga - 13.5in, 1lb8oz
Gender: GIRL!!
Maternity clothes: Yep, or workout clothes!
Started showing: For sure!
Stretch marks: Nope
Belly button in or out: Out..always
Sleep: Pretty good the last 2 weeks!
Best moment this week the last 2 weeks: A week ago Tuesday we had a dr's appointment and sono! Blakelee ended up coming to the appointment with us so she got to see her sister! She was very unsure of what was going on but was very proud of the picture the tech printed off just for her! The sonographer was able to get all the pics she needed and everything looks great! Westyn was estimated to weigh 1lb6oz which puts her in the 55th percentile...perfect! She definitely looks like her big sister!

This last weekend we took our first trip as a family of 3! Yep, in the last 17 months Brock and I have taken 2 trips alone and several trips with one set of grandparents or the other. We were originally going to take a "babymoon" but decided we needed to soak in as much time as we could with just our Blakelee girl! We went to Colorado Springs for the weekend! B did awesome on the drive, so that made it nice! We went to the North Pole and then went to the Zoo twice! We had a great little getaway...can't imagine what it will be like with 2 babies next time!!
Movement: Yes, all the time!! Surprisingly, most of the time I still feel her pretty low!
Cravings: food in general!
Symptoms: Nothing that sticks out to me right now!

Totally got sidetracked and forgot to blog for week 24!
