20 Week Baby Bump

20 Week Baby Bump

How far along: 20 weeks, 1 day
Size of baby: banana - 6.5in, 10.2oz
Gender: GIRL!!
Maternity clothes: Still wearing a few regular jeans but mainly wearing maternity bottoms or workout clothes!
Started showing: For sure!
Stretch marks: Nope
Belly button in or out: Out..always
Sleep: Eh, not great this week!
Best moment this week: Getting to see this sweet baby girl again! We had our 20 week anatomy scan on Tuesday. She confirmed that baby is definitely a girl! Her heart rate was 138bpm and she's weighing about 11oz. Everything is looking great and she is measuring right on time! She wasn't super cooperative however. She insisted on curling up, belly down and would not turn so the tech didn't get the measurements or views of the face and heart that she needed to. Dr. informed us that we would have to do another sono at our next appt, I of course didn't argue getting to see Miss Westyn again!
Movement: Yes! Movements are definitely getting stronger and I can feel her throughout the day...Brock even felt her a couple times these last two days!
Cravings: Cinnamon rolls!
Symptoms: Still pretty tired, acne is trying to clear up, sleeping is just hit or miss! Otherwise, I'm feeling good!
Looking forward to: Starting to make plans for the nursery!!

Gender Reveal

IT'S A GIRL!!!

We had such a fun time at our gender reveal party for baby #2 this past Monday! Brock and I had our ultrasound at 5 and then we had our party at 7, we couldn't wait!!

I had a feeling ever since we found out we were pregnant that this little surprise blessing was a little girl! Brock was a little more on the fence with what he thought the baby was than he was when we were pregnant with Blakelee, ultimately he had a feeling it was a girl too!

When we got to the ultrasound the tech said she would determine the gender first and then try to get some good face pics. So we closed our eyes and she took her sweet time, it felt like forever! Finally she printed off pics and sealed them in my envelope. Then we spent a good 10 minutes admiring our sweet baby! My how much change had occurred since 8 weeks when we had our last ultrasound! I just love having ultrasounds and seeing the baby! One time during the sono the tech said something about "his" hand, and I thought "hmmm, did she mean to say his or does she call every baby a he?!" I also asked her if she was confident about the gender and she said "oh yes!". So, Brock and I left the dr thinking maybe it was a boy! The tech called the party store so they could fill our balloon with the appropriate confetti. We went and picked it up and headed home, SO ready to know!

Haha, this picture cracked me up...oh technology!! All the parents face-timing with our siblings so they wouldn't miss out on the fun!

We got to our house and it was filled with family and friends! We didn't waste any time, as soon as everyone was here we were ready to pop the balloon! Now, unfortunately the party store didn't tell me they didn't have very good confetti for balloons. I had seen all these huge black balloons with lots of big colorful confetti when it was popped. Well, they were out of black balloons, so we had to go with purple; and the confetti was a really light pink or blue silvery color...I knew I should've cut up my tissue paper and had them use that! So...for those of you wanting to do a confetti balloon be sure to bring your own confetti and maybe even balloon!! haha! Anyway, we popped the balloon and it was so hard to tell what color fell out, I honestly thought it looked kind of blue and even said "I think it's a boy!"

We had to dig through the grass to find the confetti that said "It's A Girl" for me to believe it!! Luckily I thought ahead (well, kind of....if I would've really thought ahead I would've had better confetti!) and bought a bouquet of blue balloons and a bouquet of pink balloons so we could take pictures with the appropriate color!
Unfortunately Miss B was not in the mood for pictures!!

The balloons were a hit with these 3...likely the reason there was only 1 that survived the evening!

After pictures and celebrating we headed inside to reveal her name! We had our parents unscramble the letters for her first and middle name!
We were so excited when we decided on her name a couple weeks ago! Weston is Brock's middle name and I believe has been used for 4 generations in the Sherwood family, however this will be the first female to carry the name! We had it saved for a middle name for a boy but decided we had better use it in case we decide (or He decides) were done after 2! I love "boy" names for girls so I was all for using Weston for a girl but I wanted to make it a little more feminine, so we went with the "tyn" ending. Reese is purely just a name we both liked and thought flowed well! I love being able to call her by name!!

We were so blessed to share this night with sweet family and friends!
Grandparents (Sid, Bebe, Mimi, and Pops)

Some of the great grandmothers were able to make the drive! (Dee and Mimi Sherwood)

Some of our wonderful friends that were able to come celebrate with us!
(Jackson, Tyler & Alicia Tucker; Brooks & Lindsey Perry; Blair, Keegan & Bennett Neill;
Kara Thompson had to leave before we took the picture!)

We are SO excited to be adding more pink to this house! We feel so blessed that God has not only entrusted us with one of his beautiful daughters but TWO!! We feel so privileged to have the title of "Mommy and Daddy" to two sweet girls! What a special heart it takes to be the Daddy of girls, I know God has been preparing Brock's heart for this job and couldn't be more excited to see another little girl wrap him around her finger! We can't wait to welcome Miss Westyn Reese to our family but we are definitely soaking in these last months as a family of 3!

17 Week Baby Bump

How far along: 17 weeks
Size of baby: onion - 5.1in, 5.9oz
One of my apps said it was about the length of your palm, 5.0in...well my palm is shorter than 5in so we'll just pretend!
(Whoah! Went from 3.5oz to 5.9oz this week!)
Gender: ??? SO ready to know...12 days!
Weight gain: 14-15 pounds....yikes :/ Maybe I should lay off the carbs and sweets...why does that have to be what sounds good?! It seems to be adding up so much more quickly than it did with Blakelee despite the fact that I am working out way more with this one than I even thought about doing with B!
Maternity clothes: A few shirts and jeans
Started showing: For sure! I feel like I got a lot bigger this week!
Stretch marks: Nope
Belly button in or out: Out..still
Sleep: Getting better!
Best moment this week: We had an OB appointment last Friday to check up on this little one! Everything went great, HB was 155 and the nurse said the baby was moving around a lot and very active!
Movement: Yes, a little bit more than previous week but still nothing super strong or consistent!
Cravings: sweets, carbs...still!
Symptoms: Still feeling good! Napping when I can, acne was better this week, don't feel like I'm losing as much hair, and very little heartburn!

16 Week Baby Bump

16 Week Baby Bump

How far along: 16 weeks
Size of baby: avocado - 4.6in, 3.5oz
Gender: ??? SO ready to know!
Weight gain: 10-11 pounds....yikes :/
Maternity clothes: A few workout shirts and wore my jeans for the first time!
Started showing: For sure! You know, every pregnant woman has the time where they feel like they "popped"...well I haven't had that moment with my belly yet, but goodness....my butt is another story!! I'm pretty sure all 10ish pounds I've gained went straight to my hiney...haha!
Stretch marks: Nope
Belly button in or out: Out..always
Sleep: Not bad, gradually getting better, still have my occasional night that I can't go to sleep
Best moment this week: We had a pretty great day Saturday - I got up early and went on my long run with a friend, running together made it so much better! When I got home Brock had made a yummy breakfast, so I got to sit down and enjoy with my family! Then I had to go into work..I know, on a Saturday :( BUT since I was there I made a run down to the OB wing and got to hear this little one's sweet heart beat, made it all worth it! We then spent the rest of the afternoon napping and watching football then went and had dinner at our friends' house. It was such a nice, low key, relaxing day!
Movement: Yes, still just some flutters here and there very ready for it to become stronger and more consistent!
Cravings: sweets, carbs...still!
Symptoms: Still feeling good! Napping when I can, still trying to tackle this crazy acne, having to clean out the shower drain daily from all the hair I'm losing, and occasional heartburn.
Looking forward to: We have an OB appointment Friday morning, even though there's nothing of significance taking place at this one they're still exciting to me, one step closer to the next one....our gender ultrasound!!

Gender: ??? We find out in 1 month!!
Weight gain: 10ish pounds already....yikes :/

Stretch marks: Nope
Belly button in or out: Out..always
Sleep: Not bad, still have my occasional night that I can't go to sleep
Best moment this week: Brock and I took Blakelee to the park last Thursday evening and enjoyed some 50cent corn dogs from Sonic (eh hm...hence the 10lb weight gain!) Movement: Yes, still just some flutters here and there!
Cravings: sweets, carbs...ya know, all the healthy stuff!
Symptoms: Still feeling good! BUT overall, I really can't complain!
Looking forward to: Still ready to feel more movement!!
